I have 5 weel old GC pullets who have been doing well in their temperature controlled coop for the last 3 weeks. I almost have the covered run finished. How soon can I let them out? Will they know how to climb their 4' ramp to get back in the coop. Should I keep food and water in the run as well as the coop? other tips for this transition?

I think those chicks will start exploring on their own, after they're between 4-6 weeks. Some food out in the run is OK, so they have something exciting to find while they explore the run. Keep their main dishes in the coop filled with water & food. Offer treats when you want to train them to come to you or return to the coop at dusk.

What can you use for treats at 4 to 6 weeks?

You can get a bunch of meel wprms, (spelling), at your local pet supply shop... They love those...

My 7 week old is scared of Meal Worms, but loves crickets! Just make sure you give them Grit, so they can digest it.
