What age do easter eggers typically start laying?

I have 4 EE that are now 16 wks old. Some are getting a little red in the face. No squatting yet, but they are skittish so won't let me close to them. I have 4 RSL and they started laying at 16-17 wks old. Should I have the extra nest boxes ready now? They have been sleeping in one sometimes at night to get away from the big girls, instead of roosting. We have one nest box that has been closed off since they were integrated.

Sixteen weeks is pretty early for EEs. Typically mine start in the eighteen to twenty two week range.

The earliest I had was 17 weeks and the latest was 40. Also, none of my EE's have ever squated for me.

One of my EEs is squatting and laying in the nest boxes the last two days. She is 19 weeks. Hope it is soon.
