What age do geese pair up?

What age do you usually see mating behavior from geese that have paired up? Not until breeding season? Or just a little before that?

is it possible to force pairing by housing geese pairs together in sepereate pens

We select which geese we want to breed each time so yes you can pair and trio and create breeding pens for them to be during season.

Peaches our lilac goose loves sampson a smooth white gander, she wont be permitted to be with him, but she follows him everywhere right now.

thats great as i want them to free range togther but dont want to cross breed so want pairing to be kept in breeds during brreding season

and with that i understand i will have to keeo them seperate from november/december time and throughout breeding season

Silver i would bet you dont have to split them up until January for your location. You wont see eggs until February more than likely. (if I am remembering petes time line from this year)

you may be right

i happened to walk down to the shops after my wife gave birth on sunday and the shop keeper had eggs in a basket and i asked do you have chicken

he said no he doesnt he has a person sell them to him to further sell on in his shop

i happened to mention i had ducks and geese as well as chicken

and he got well excited and said that he wants duck and geese eggs

and that he sells loads of geese eggs and has 3 supliers already and wants my eggs too

now that is only 10 mins drive from me and he happened to mention is other suppliers dont start suppling him till March/April

so i think thats bout the time for my area (weather wise)
