Hi we got a beautiful Copper Black Marans pullet at the mart about five weeks ago. We can't remember if the seller said about twelve or fifteen weeks. So we're trying to figure out what age she is now. Based on what he said it would make her 17 to 21 weeks.

What age is our pullet?
Hard to see in the Photo but her comb is still very black.

Also: Can anyone suggest a good name. we've been calling her Blackie, but that's just because we haven't figured out a good name.
She is very quiet and shy but friendly.

Thanks

She does look to be pullet sized, and BCMs get to b pretty large hens. I would guess that she's probably around 17 to 20 weeks. Now, if I remember correctly, my BCMs didn't begin laying until they were around 25 weeks old. So it could be a while. Is she squatting or showing any interest in the nesting boxes yet?

She's got some nice red feathering going on in hear head and neck....Names I would suggest would be Amber or Flame or Ember.....

Hope she lays a nice dark egg for you,
Sharon

You are spot on. Thinking about it again she must have been 12 weeks making her just short or 18 weeks now.
Great names. Thanks
