Absolutely. That said, I like having the birds with the skin on so I think it is worth the modicum of extra trouble. When it comes to Canada Geese. I increasingly think it is not worth the enormous trouble of plucking.
 
I read that if you add a little dish soap to your scalding water it helps to cut through the oils on ducks and geese so the water can get to the base of the feathers. Don't have any personal experience with it though so I don't know if it works.
