What age to butcher Pekin duck

I found this:
Quote:
If you get a good meat strain of Pekin duck (regular Pekin), you will be very happy with the feed conversion, size, and age to butcher. My Pekins dress out just a hair under five pounds, not including innards or neck, and I butcher at 8 weeks. They don't eat enormous amounts of feed to get to that size.

8 weeks is the usual age to butcher Pekin.

You want to do it when they are fully feathered. Pin feathers are too much of a pain to remove.

You can also wait another 6-10 weeks and there will be another opportunity when they are fully feathered. However, you get your best gain for the food eaten if you butcher at 8 weeks. They will eat a lot if they live an additional 10 weeks, and they will get bigger, but not enough bigger to make it worth feeding them longer.
