What age to mix chicks with hens???

When can young chicks be put in with the laying hens? what about the feed? I have 2 chicks that are almost 6wks and have thier feathers in and are quite big compared to my other chicks in the brooder.

Usually I wait until they are about the same size around 16 or so weeks. I find then they can fend for themselves. Gloria Jean
