What age to put a zip ties on chicks, specifically quail?

What age to put a zip ties on chicks, specifically quail? I’m fine with removing several times to make them fit.

When I did zip ties, I put them on at hatch. Then checked them regularly. Usually changing them by a week or two and then usually changing every 3 weeks or so thereafter. It depends on how tight you put them on initially.
They only have to be tight enough that they won't slip over the toes.
