I have 2 Delaware pullets and would like to know if there is an average age at which I can expect them to start laying. When did your Delawares start laying eggs?

Thanks!

Most start laying between 18 - 22 weeks of age....all breeds and individuals vary.

Bigger and brighter red combs and wattles signify being close to lay, as do pelvic bones 2 finger or wider apart, but again they all vary.

UPDATE: I have two Delawares. One started laying at 23 weeks and the other at 25 weeks. I have 3 Black Australorps, as well, and they all began laying at 23 weeks.

Mine took a lot longer than average, like 7-8 months old they began laying. But they lay almost everyday so it doesn't matter.
