These are hatchery Golden Laced Wyandottes, standard size. I know they're a little slower to mature than some breeds, faster than others. These were hatched March 2nd - we're in Northeast Ohio - so have about 13 hours of daylight now, and will get up to about 15 or so hours by the end of June.

If they're two months old now, how soon should we expect them to start laying and/or crowing?

Thanks!

Id say at least 2 more months probably more before they start laying. My wyandottes have taken as long as 8 months to lay the first egg.

My hatchery girl began laying at 21 1/2 weeks. Extending lights won't make a real difference at your GLW's age... But they could lay as early as 18 or 19 weeks, and as late as 26 or more weeks.

Thanks for the input. I wasn't expecting anything for a few months yet, but just wondered. What's the YOUNGEST they might start laying or crowing?
