i have a bronze/narragansett mix he's about 5 months old. i already have a hen thats laying eggs right now shes sitting on some geese eggs but i was wondering at what agg my tom would be ready to breed with her so i can start hatching out turkeys

Not sure at what age they start to breed. I had a few turkeys last year and I never saw my tom turkey mate. The eggs were fertile though. Same thing with my brahma rooster. I have never seen him mate but I have chicks so.

I would expect him to start mating next spring. Turkeys reach sexual maturity around 10-14 months of age. Young toms are really clumsy as well so expect it to take a few weeks for fertility rates to be high. I started out with roughly 50% fertile early this spring and ended at almost 100%.

If you have multiple toms be sure to separate them occasionally as they will knock each other off the hen when breeding.

That's a good piece of information about separating the Toms I will have to keep that in mind mine will not start till next year for breeding.
