It's quite rare but happens now and then, I've kept guineas and chickens together for years and never had them hybridise. Have you heard of feathersite? They have a great selection of guinea / chicken hybrid pictures, there are some very strange looking birds on there. And yes they are infertile.

Little Guinook now has a little brother or sister And a 3rd hybrid is on it's way!! The second one is pied like the guinea mother! It's very cute.
