Got some new birds Today

I am guessing these 2 Naked Necks are about 8-9 Weeks old

but do you think they are pullets

I think they are as I saw some of same age with bigger combs when choosing these 2

Now I Know I'm a pullet as I look like one

but can you tell me my Age and what breed I am

If I was not a boy I would be worried

but I am worried as to what breed I am and what's my age

so you think im a fully grown Pekin Bantam?

The roo good be a mix to me he looks a little like a golden sex link or red sex link but his pattern doesn't match up.... Since that hen is full grown it would be hard to tell what her age is now, is she laying because if she is than she could be any where between 15 and 30 weeks old depending on her breed. As for the breed I have no idea. Judging on waddle and comb development I guessing they're both girls- very pretty too.

Thanks for the input

I will tell you in a few days if she is laying as I just got her 10 mins ago so don't know

as for the Roo he is defo not a sexlink of any sort

first of all SexLink Roos are not available in UK they are culled on hatch (no one in UK can take claim to a Roo sexlink)
secondly he is a Buff Cuckoo ??something??
thirdly he is a bantam
lastly he has feathered feet (booted) like a pekin

thanks im quite proud of my guessing skills then as I picked them out of about 100 straight run turkens. it was funny as they where in a barn and had ti catch it

I was going to get a Light Sussex as well and after chasing it across the field and catching it after half hour

it turns out she had a illness the feet scales where all gone and a lot of growth so I left her.

You're right on the NN's, and they look like pullets to me so far (a rooster at that age would probably have shown himself).

This cream hen looks like some sort of Old English Game (assuming she is a bantam). Is that a pea comb she has?

The last boy really does look like a Lemon Cuckoo Cochin project rooster.

Lovely chickens!

And forgot ages. The hen looks like an older girl to me, 2+ years. You may be able to tell by how she copes with her molt when it comes, as older girls often have a harder time growing back their feathers in general, and it's made worse when they want to try and lay at the same time.

The rooster looks like a fairly young boy. Does he have any spurs on him? Sometimes you can attempt to tell the age by the length of the spurs.

Otherwise, chickens are pretty difficult to tell the age of once they reach maturity.

yes they both are bantams

the comb stumps me

I cant decide on straight or that v shaped you get (my NN's have that)

btw she dropped an egg today so is in lay

the boy well he looks older that 2 as I looked at his spurs and they have been grounded blunt and even then they are 1.5inches long which makes him old in my book

never seen spurs that long in my life

I'm thinking Cochin or Pekin personally

regardless he is gorgeous

Thanks every one for your advice

btw you think that my boy will mate my girl??? wanna experiment

looks like its safe to say the Boy is a Lemon Cuckoo Pekin
