Received this chick from an assortment order at Murray McMurray- assortment includes all of their standard breed chickens. At first I was thinking buttercup, but it has a single comb and the color of the feathers on the head has me stumped!
This chick is about 4 1/2 weeks old!
Any suggestions on sex are appreciated, although it is probably too early!
Thanks in advance

Upon further research, is that a pea-comb?? First time chicken owner and I'm still trying to catch on to all of the different variations This one is much bigger than my others, always has been and feathered out much quicker than others. I wouldn't be surprised if it were a cockeral!
Also, was looking into Dark Cornish as a possibility?

I think wellsummer.
I looked into wellsummers, golden campines, golden penciled hamburgs.. but they all have the solid coloring on their heads which is what throws me off about this one- it has all those multi colored feathers!
May just have to wait and see

It looks like a pea comb to me. I think possibly an EE cockerel without the muffs. He is pretty. Hope he stays nice for you. He looks very friendly now.
