So I picked up some Buff Orpington chicks back in the spring and I saw this cute little black chick so I grabbed it up. Now I have this little girl who lays beautiful white eggs. Any idea on what she is? PS: ignore the OEGB he likes cameras...

You can't really tell in the picture but her legs are blackish.

What color are the underside of her legs? By size alone I'd be thinking Australorp...

That was my first thought to, but robo said that it's laying a white egg....though I don't see white earlobes...

Possibly a mix. When I first looked at her I thought Blacksexlink, but they lay large brown eggs. Only thing left is a mutt. She's a pretty girl though.

By white they could mean off white, or creamy white.... or maybe the bird is just hatchery quality. Other than mutt, I have absolutely no idea..

She lays a really dull white egg. If you look close you can see a white earlobe. Plus there aren't any other birds in that pen that lay white eggs so that is where I was confused. I think she is a mutt because the man free ranged and different breeds probably crossed. When I called him he said he had no idea but she sure does lay good. I was thinking Jersey Giant or Austrolaup, but I really don't think that's what it is. Oh and her legs are black but her foot is more of a pale grey.

All I know is that she lays huge eggs with a really orange yolk so I'm not complaining even if she is a mutt.

Like everyone else said she looks like an australorp mix, but not full australorp.
