I bought eggs off of Deerman on Ebay two years ago that were suppose to be Purple pied and the top bird is the only egg that hatched I say it is a purple bs but was wondering why it neck is so dark brown for a 2 year old male I am comparing it to the second picture which is my yearling purple pied and I have a yearling purple dark pied and they have so much more color in neck and was wondering if I am right that it is just a purple bs and will have all it color as a three year old [IMG]eck[IMG]

Quote:I am not sure, I thought that PBSs had more of a solid shoulder and no brown on the neck. Maybe you have a knew mutation, he is beautiful either way.

They do look a little strange, but the Purple B/S take a while to color out (3 yrs) Go to Amy's website www.amyspeacockparadise.com
