Hi,
I'm new here so I hope I'm doing this right. This is my first time owning chickens so I'm pretty clueless, but learning fast

I have 6 chickens that I got January 14. I was told they were 5 wks old at that time, so that should make them all about 4 months old. I had thought I was getting all hens but one of the black ones is most definitely a rooster. Now I'm starting to worry that this one might be a rooster also. She/He isn't crowing yet but the feathers and tail have me concerned. I'd also like to know what breed she is. I was told she was an Americana. She's my favorite of all the chickens and the friendliest so I'm so hoping she's a hen. Thanks so much for any help!!!

its an easter egger cockerel

Oh! So bummed!!! I guess I'm definitely going to have to give the black rooster back to the farmer because I can't have 2 roosters with only 4 hens and 1 coop. Geesh!!! Here I thought I was going to have 6 egg layers and I'm now down to 4. I'm pretty sure the rest of them are girls (fingers crossed). Thanks for your help!
