What am I?

Hi, I'm new here on byc and to chicken owning. Just wondering if anyone could tell me what breed this might be? I was given 6, 2 week old chicks. The mother was a regular sized all black chicken with a metallic green shimmer. The rooster was all black too, although I didn't get a chance to see him. (The owner didn't know breeds) All chicks have white bellies and bums and a few have speckled faces and two have a few white feathers on the longest part of their wings... Any ideas?? Or is it too early to tell??

The most common black breed is Australorps, so for now that's as good a guess as any. You'll be better able to tell when they're older and you can see more of how the bird's built.

I agree; they're likely Black Australorps.

Yes, assuming that they are Black Australorps. As they mature, they will lose the white feathers and become all black.
