So this baby hatched from a batch of chocolate muscovy eggs I purchased. Obviously not a muscovy baby since it hatched on day 28. Any ideas? It's coloring is really throwing me off.

I don't know anything about muscovys, but here are some thoughts:

First, do you know if your egg source is reliable? Some are, some aren't.

They may have had the kids collect the eggs, and they mixed them up.
If it looks like a muscovy later on, maybe they accidentally mixed this egg in with the chocolates.
Or, they may not separate their breeds well enough, and you've got a scrambled egg.

Age will probably tell.

could still be a muscovy, a lot of breeds look the same when new. could also be a Rouen or mallard. when I picked up my indian runner 5 weeks ago there were a lot of ducklings that looked like that and I actually seen them again a couple days ago and my they have all grown so different, a few were brown looking like mallard or Rouen and one was dark dark brown, one was all white with a black thick patch line on its head and one was white with black spot so you never know. post pictures as it develops so we can see what it turns out to be :)

Contacted the breeder looks like it's either a Rouen or a Rouen muscovy cross. Hopefully it's just one that hatches out.
