I am ordering 15 chicks to replace the ones that were killed by a fox, after I catch the fox. I am researching breeds and came across australorps, and was wondering if anyone can give me some personal experiences they have had with them? Are they cold hardy? Are they good layers? What is their disposition like?

My experience is they hold up great in our Minnesota winters and lay pretty steady and are protective of their eggs and make great mama's! With attention their great, but if you leave them to grow up on their own with out some lovin they won't want anything to do with you except to peck the heck out of your hands come egg picking time!
