What are chicken feeds made out of?

I am relieved. Somehow dogs and cats are different than "livestock" though it makes no logical sense that I feel that way.

Could not figure out how that could possibly be profitable for the feed company either. They need large, consistent supplies of anything that goes into their feed mixes.

I don't think dogs and cats are a staple of livestock feeds either, but I could certainly see how some would end up in a batch. And that thought... well, it's just ... ick.
