what are good free rangeing breed? (frendly breeds preferd)

I have mixed breeds that do well free range and my EE's really foraging too.

Anybody mention hamburgs? Any kind. They could gladly live off the land entirely, with their compact body size and their astonishing rates of lay. Mine=fabulous and perky and charming and beautiful. McMurray has lovely ones to start you off . . .
