Not exactly. You pay a small order fee and a charge for ordering less than a certain amount of each breed. There is no charge for the extra chicks themselves and, as I discovered, there can be quite a few.

Do they tell you what the extras are such as the breed of them..guess it don't matter they will end up on my dinner table roosters.

I think I probably will order from Meyer's, Cityclucks. Do you (or anyone) have any experience with them? And yes, it will be a small order, and I live in New England, so cold is definitely a concern. I might be in for trouble with the peanuts, eh?
