What are some treats that chickens like? And How does it affect egg laying?

Other than feed what do chickens like?
I've heard they like things like weeds and bugs but what else can they eat? I have been wondering about this for a while now. My chickens are about a month and half old and they eat just about anything in there coop. I am also wondering how this affects egg laying. I have seen the differences between caged and free range chicken yokes but i was hoping for a more in depth answer.

I feed anything I can find from the produce . Their favorite cabbage. canteloupe.

They love all kinds of treats and table scraps. There are lists on here of what treats to feed them and what not to feed them. High in protein is great for egg laying. Keep in mind though, too many treats is bad. Their feed has the nutrients they need to grow and when old enough, layer feed helps them to lay. Too much scratch or other treats will make them eat less feed. Free ranging is fantastic because they eat the bugs and so forth that are high in protein. I hope that helps with a more in depth answer.

I looked around and found some of those lists, thank you very much. I give them some sort of treat once a day and when they start laying, i'm guessing i can cut down on every other day?

You can always give them treats, just in moderation. Or you can never give them treats. In my opinion, contrary to popular belief, chickens don't care about you. They care about what you can offer them. If you want your chickens to at least seem like they just absolutely love you, give them treats. They will identify you as the source of those treats and they will be at your feet or in your lap every time they see you.

Oh yes, when ever i walk up to my coop they all come running to the door, because they know i have something good for them that they want.

Our chickens eat most of our table scraps. I won't feed them chicken though. They don't seem to like tropical fruits such as bananas, citrus and pineapple but they love everything else. I can't leave the house without having them all running up to meet me. They stand there and grumble if I don't have anything for them. Their favorites are strawberries, tomatoes and watermelon.
