What are the chances?

I let the kids put the chickens up last night. (We keep the coop closer to the house than the run.)

Needless to say 2 of my best eggers ended up in general population, and the roosters were up on them like flies on...well, you know. It was about 30 seconds before I got to both hens.

Should I put them back with the eggers, or is that how long it takes to end up with fertilized eggs?

You can still put them back with your egg layers. The eggs are fine to eat. If they are not "broody" and setting on a nest then you have no babies to worry about.
