They won't breed true, only one I can think of. Love them for laying light brown eggs.

I would buy Brahmas from the same hatchery again, just not the Wyandottes, BRs, Buff Orps or BRs or any other production type birds you'd buy for egg production. Never liked the sex links anyway, looks-wise, but till my hens developed the reproductive issues, they were all fabulous layers, most of them an egg a day with rare skipped days. Sex links don't lay better than that.

i think it all depends on the sex-link cross. some stop laying early. hens are not very colorful.


i myself love them. mine are small sex-link hens, there not very big. havent started to lay yet, there really no differnt than any other chicken in my opinion

I know there amazing but, i have had two hens who could not even get to see life to its fullest, one just died another one a long time ago... At one year old... The problem with them is they make eggs so quickly they deplete there calcium, wich then makes them have egg problems such as fairy eggs or soft shelled eggs, wich can break inside them leaving residue, killing them from a infection..I love them great birds, but im going to be staying away from the breed.
