Yesterday I purchased 2 Silkies, a white (Cindy) and a partridge (Jasmine) from TSC's Chick Days. They are about 1-2 weeks old. The lady we got them from doesn't keep records. We think Jasmine is older than Cindy. I am hoping they are hens... Can you tell?

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

Someone might be able to help, but I've always been under the impression that the only way to know for sure the sex of your silkie, is to either wait for it to crow, or lay an egg.

Still a little early for me to tell but my hunch is that Cindy might be a cockerel and Jasmine a pullet.

Thank you for your help, it is much appreciated

I'll post pictures when they are older, around 6 weeks old, like Summerlove said.

What makes you think roo? The chicks stance?

The stance? Cindy was perked up when I took the picture, because I spoke to her right before. I don't think that's going to tell the gender... especially this early.

Far too young to sex - Jasmine certainly looks a few days older but not much. I can usually tell the sex of my silkies when about 5-6 weeks - so keep the photos coming as they get older.

It is early. I believe either both are hens or one is a hen and one is a roo. Wait until they get older. It is pretty easy to tell by the sixe of comb, or the structure (is that the right word?) of the crest.
