Are you in the U.S.?
If so the first thing is that Marans aren't a recognized breed with the American Poultry Association. Until they are I don't think you will be able to show them unless your able to put them in the AOB class, that is if the show you are attending has a AOB class and then I would think that you would have to a working standard for that breed and variety.

onthespot, The French Marans Standard in Australia calls for feathered shanks (clean shanks disqualify). The British Marans Standard calls for clean shank (feathered shanks disqualify).
However there are no British Marans in Australia, last one recorded was in the mid 1960s.

Thanks everyone. I thought Marans wherent recognized yet.. but i wasnt for sure. I am going to ask my 4-H leader if there is a AOB class in the show. So my Marans have feathered legs.. I was a bit confused so if there is an AOB class should my Marans have feathered feet or not? I wont be showing my Maran rooster as he has a squirl tail but thankfully he is with a very nice female Maran that i hope will help breed out the squirl tail in him. Other than that his coloring is great.

They will have to be Feather footed. Becouse that is what the working standard call for..
Now just for you know, I beleve you will have to provide the working standard for the judge and you will only place as high as the AOB class at best.
