what are the pros and cons of raising ruffed grouse?

i dont even knoe if thats alowed.i jus went for a jog and a truck was coming down the road so i ran up a hill so i didnt get hit and flushed 2 ruffeled grouse from a pine tree.i then thoht bout how hard it wood be to raise them.i wont be disapointed if its illegal.i was just wonderin.give me the pros and cons.

i dont know if it goes in this section so if not please feel free to move it to the right one.

We raise ours off the ground. They are harder to raise. The chicks can be hard to get started and once they get a little bigger they usually need to be seperated in small groups.

Can ruffled grouse be raised on the ground in flight pens? I have been trying hard to find some grouse eggs, I have redirected our farm towards game birds. I also have a small vineyard started, and game birds have always fasinated me.

Do you have any more pics of your grouse?

That is actually a male, I will have to try and get some photos of a male displaying. Our weather has been bad for the last week, but I can get more photos when we get some good weather.

Yes they can be raised on the ground, but most raise them off the ground so they do not get worms(parasites).

We are planning on selling eggs this spring, but by auction only.​
