I don't know but I would think that it would be similar to a Crele.

I can't find any pictures of the "golden tippped lavender" color someone mentioned on here. Does anyone have any pictures they can post? It sounds like it would be really stunning, and I'd love to see how it actually looks.

"The genetic makeup of the black tailed red phenotype makes it difficult to express crisp barring in the male plumage and is especially difficult in the female plumage. "

I just wondered because I it is hard for me to get good barring in buff colored birds(especially hens)...I thought it would also be difficult in the Red variety.

The thing I don't understand is why he is calling the R.I. Red a Black Tailed Red.
R.I. Reds are a Red Columbian, a Black Tailed Red would not have the Black in the wings where a Red Columbian (R.I. Red) does.
