If it has feathers and can remotely be considered a chicken, it can probably be found in my area. Seriously. I have never seen so many new breeds of chickens in my whole life as the last time I visited our local feed store. I spent half my time pestering the person in charge of the baby chicks going "What the heck is X breed?" Some I had barely seen in the past, like Cinnamon Queen (new hybrid)
Apparently designer chicken breeds are also popular as a few of them were introduced as a breed of Sex link or other types and specifically created to have a particular look or size and Google couldn't find them.
I will note that one thing I did not see were many bantams or small breeds. So I'd say in my local area full size breeds are the trend over the smaller breeds.
