What are these bantams?

I don’t think those 2 are OEGB since I don’t see single combs on them. It does look more like a splash Rosecomb bantam

That's interesting. I've asked twice at TSC who supplied these bantams, and they said both times they were from Hoover. Hoover definitely doesn't sell any Rosecombs. (I called to ask.)

So, the upside down heart-shaped comb on the tiny chicks would be a rose comb? Has to be Privett. I'm really excited how they will turn out! Tickled pink about the Brahma as well. I have a variety of 13 chicks coming next week, half bantams. I just couldn't wait and had to get a jump start with these babies!!

Getting bantams is always exciting! If they do turn out to be rosecombs they might be a bit flighty but so pretty with white earlobes making them look like they’re wearing earrings. And Brahmas are usually so docile.

But if they don’t turn out to be Rosecomb...Hoover’s does carry blue OEGB...maybe they just have really small single combs. Or that TSC gets their chicks from both places. Either way I hope you update us one day on what they turn out to be!

Getting bantams is always exciting!

This was the thread I referred to, last week's batch of bantams. I only have two left of these, as the little buff cochin didn't make it 24 hours, and the blue one, which we had thought might be a rosecomb, got squished by the two remaining chicks.
So we have the light yellow down with very light silver wash and feathers that are coming in light gray (clean legged) that was believed to be a rosecomb and the one that was thought to be a buff brahma.
Now I know for sure they could not have come from Privett and had to have come from Hoover, unless hatcheries do indeed "borrow" chicks for order fulfillment.

Hoover does not have rosecombs, and I did verify this with them over the phone. That really only leaves OEGB....is it a pearl one or something like that? I cannot find pics of any OEGBs this light in color as chicks.

Neither does Hoover carry Brahma bantams. This one is definitely small, not a standard sized chick. Besides, aren't brahmas large even for standard size? It's a rather round little thing. Otherwise, it's just as small as the other bantams. It is feather footed., and wing feathers are coming in buff with some black. Could it be some kind of cochin or d'uccle? I know it's not a silkie, and those are the only other feather footed bantams Hoover carries. I'm at a loss.

Sorry about the blue chick I had that happen when they were sleeping..found out my heat lamp was too high so I lowered it to keep them warmer. If the chicks walk around normal and aren’t loud then it is warm enough and your other chicks should be fine.

The light one might be self blue OEGB or splash. Ideal Poultry is the only hatchery I know of that sells Pearl OEGB. I had one, it looked like a penguin but grey and white instead of black and white.

Is the other chick laced? Wonder if it might be a Golden laced Cochin like Aunna got last year.

If your chicks don’t turn out to be from Hoover I wonder if they ship to another zip code and transfer from one TSC to another. TSC is not franchised so they all have the same owner and it might be cheaper for them to distribute a large wholesale batch especially if they are already transferring other merchandise from other stores to your local one.

And maybe the box they were in were labeled Hoover but it could have been reused from another order or other breeds

I took pics of it into Cackle today when I picked up some others. The lady there also said she thought it was a rosecomb. We shall see. Feathers are coming in very light gray mostly, with a little bit of very light tan at the top feather on the wing, with a couple of slightly darker spots at random. You can see the light tan best in the second pic and the spotting in the first. I did not take these until tonight, so the Cackle girl didn't see these wing pics.

Is the other chick laced?

I am going to look closer at the wing pattern tomorrow and take a photo. That one doesn't have as much wing growth as the other, but I know it is buff and black.
