What are these biting gnats and how do I get rid of them?

That will work. Spray everywhere you see them. I carefully sprayed in the air where I saw them flying and the surfaces they land on. I sprayed everywhere but removed the feed and water before spraying. The pest were very annoying. Mix the heaviest which is 0.5%, 6.4 oz to a gallon of water. I use a gallon sprayer with a wand and spray everything the pest will land on. The wand helps to get into places easier. I have poop pits underneath my roosts and sprayed in there too. Good luck...

Thank you! <3 We bought a half-gallon sprayer, but it didn't have a wand.

Yes very annoying pests. I lost two hens a couple of weeks ago very suddenly and I wonder if these things are the reason why.

Yeah hopefully I can get solar hooked up soon and then done have to worry too much about the crazy wiring.
The people who run our feed store told me to get vanilla extract and wipe it on their beaks. It looks like some people have success with mixing vanilla in a spray bottle and spraying the chickens. I might try that too...

Good luck with the solar! ☀️
