I grow marigolds and place the flowers in the coop. Most insects hate marigolds. I grow them around my coop and garden. Mice, rabbits , and deer are repelled by them also. I know this doesn't help you right now but you can plan for next year.

Thank you, I’ll see if I can find some information about marigolds and mites. I just looked at the zip lock where I disposed my gloves into yesterday. So many crawlers. They move very quickly. Makes me feel itchy thinking of them.
