I was unaware there were two variates. What are the crosses?
That's what Hoover's uses.One of the crosses is a Rhode Island red or New Hampshire male over a silver laced Wyandotte female, and I think that is the case here since the chicks have rose combs. If it is, then your birds are pullets because they are a type of red sex link, with females being gold and males silver.
