So I went to the feed store and supposedly bought 8 Red Ranger meat birds and 8 buff Orpingtons, but that didn't happen. I got a motley mix instead. I figured out that I ended up with 8 Cornish Cross (NOT what I wanted, but they're here), and 8 mixed variety ones. I determined that many them are Brahmas, but need some help with the others.
We think the pretty ginger one may be a RI Red or NH Red, but there's a lot of lacing on their wings so we're thrown off. Also, the comb is really short and isn't standing up.
The two mottled/barred/brindle ones are nothing I've seen at this age before. They have pink skin, serrated combs that are bigger and more pronounced.
I just need to know who is going to go to the processing place later this summer and who is going to stay in the coop producing eggs. They shouldn't be anything exotic, I didn't pre-order them so they should be some standard bantam breed.
Any help would be much appreciated!
