What in the world is wrong with my girl!?
Noticed these black spots on my 1 year old Bantam Cochin hen earlier today while I was collecting eggs. She is acting normal. Eating and drinking fine… none of my other chickens have these spots. What can I do to help her?

What is your general location and temperature? Is it freezing at nighttime? Do you have mosquitoes out? Could she have been pecked or injured on wire fencing? Her wattles and comb might be frostbite if it has been freezing. The pictures are not clear, so those are some possibilities to consider. Her right eye may need to be irrigated with saline or eye wash and cleaned up. Plain neosporin ointment can be put into her eye 2-3 times a day.

We are located in East Texas… weather here changes hour to hour. The high has been around 75 and the low has been 45-50 this week… last week it was a bit colder. I have been trying to watch the flock a little closer today since I don’t get home until after dark during the week and no one seems to be picking on her. She was in the nesting box with my broody silkie hen when I noticed the issue, but my broody hen isn’t even pecking me when I get eggs from her so I do not think it’s a pecking issue.
