I bought three "Welsummer" chicks from my local feed store in late March. They don't seem to match the pictures of Welsummers that I find on the internet. To me, they look like two Golden Laced Wyandottes and one Silver Laced Wyandotte. What do you think?

These pics were taken on July 1st, so these gals are just over 3 months old here.

Thanks,

Ryan

I think you are right about being two Gold Lace Wyandottes and one Silver Lace Wyandotte. They are not Welsummers, but they still are beautiful!

Thanks for the confirmation!

I just wasn't sure. They don't look quite the same as the pictures I can find on the internet, but that is probably because they are still young.

By the way, this is my other feed store surprise:

So out of 6 feed store chicks, I got three that were the wrong breed and 1 rooster. 2 out of 6 aint bad, huh?

Actually, I would have loved to keep the rooster, but being in town limits, I am not allowed to. I dropped him off at a (different) feed store two days ago. They are going to find him a good home. (Northern Star Mills in Chico, CA, if anyone is interested. He is very sweet, by the way).
