WHAT ARE THEY??? PLEASE HELP

Can anyone please tell me what breed these are. They were sold to us as Black Australorps but as you can see they are not solid black. They were at first but the older the get (14 weeks now) the more colors come in. Also are they hens or roosters?

before I reads the thread just by pics I almost thought austrolops aswell

but then decided cant be as not black

then I thought French Marans but gain not quite that

what they look like is French Marans X Australops

btw they look like roosters at 14 weeks

They are beautiful birds, I love the mahogany leakage.

Hmmm.... Black Sex-Link?

The last three look like roosters. Not sure what the others might be. But I'm leaning toward hens?

They don't look like BSLs to me at all. Their color is too even and there's definitely roos there too, so not BSL.

They might be Black Marans with clean legs and red leakage.

To the OP, try posting in the Marans breeder section and ask if they could be Marans or a cross.
