These three were sold to me from Coastal (Hoover hatchery) as EE. They are 18 weeks and just starting laying. I know the one on the far left lays brown eggs. Her eggs are top row left two. Today the middle EE layed and I saw her in the nesting box and checked as soon as she got up and there was a brown egg (second row single). Did I just not get lucky to get colored eggs or are these not EE? Only got them for their color 😵‍💫🙄. But who’s laying the other ones? I have BO, Speckled Sussex, and SLW.

Easter Eggers are generally chosen to look fun and lay fun colored eggs. It's not guaranteed. If you purchase from a smaller or local breeder they have a better idea of their flock and genetics and you have a likelier chance of ending up with a colored egg layer. I myself was bummed when I learned that "EEs can lay a rainbow of colors!" Which includes white and brown 🙃

I don't think they are ee. Or at least the 2 on the outside. They look like my blue cochin. Her eggs are also a similar color

The one in the middle is definitely an olive egger with that hairdo. The others could be Sapphire Gems or maybe blue copper Marans.

Though they look like our SG, the one in the middle with the "hairdo" might possibly be a Sapphire Sky?
