Looking for some help - don't know if these are ducklings or goslings - our daughter wanted to add them to the farm so we purchased them, but the man we got them from doesn't know what they are either. Right now they have been adopted by our momma hen even though they are over twice the sized of the chicks - they haven't gotten any feathers yet and they love grass and clover!! We would like to know what they are - ducks? geese? breed? and if the sex can be determined by color? Thanks!

Well, to me and I am no expert!) it looks like one of each. the one on the left looks like a duckling and the one on the right looks like a gosling. Just my opinion though. Hope a real expert gets on and helps you out!

Okay - I've been searching and wondering and searching and wondering - what are the chances that these are saddleback sebastopol or saddleback pomeranian geese? By google images I am leaning toward saddleback sebastopol. Any ideas?

Well if there geese then yeah I would say the look more like the saddleback sebastopol. They have similiar eyes in the pics I looked at.

x2 ^^^^
Those are definitely ducks. No doubt. Cuties! Geese have different bills and body-shapes. Look up goslings and ducklings and look at the bill.

Yep, definately ducklings and they look like Muscovy ducklings to me! There is no way to sex them by color, vent sexing at a very young age or waiting for them to mature is the only way. The head, bill, and body shape makes me think they are muscovies. The one on the right also has a chocolate coloring that isn't seen in mallard type duckling down. If they are mallard types (anything other than muscovy) the male will stay very quite and develop a curl on the top of his tail; the female will quack loudly. Muscovies are completely different though, and I have never kept them so don't know too much about them. I do know that the males develop bright red caruncles on their face that sort of resemble a turkey face. I also know that they are great foragers of insects and even mice and that they can fly and the females are very good mothers. Keep us posted!
