Yes most times her eggs have a bump like the one that is circled. The rest of flock does not have that bump. She eats well and is good otherwise. For the last two days I have been putting a bit of apple cider vinegar in their water, and today her egg came out without the bump or grainy thing. I have no idea if the AVC did something good in her or not, but the egg is perfect today. I decide to put AVC in their water from now on at least 3 times a week. I put a tablespoon to a gallon on water.Well, a 'glitch' is an infrequent, or single event, malfunction....
....in this case happening in the shelling gland, or uterus, of the chicken.
So the big bump, circled in red, has always been on her eggs?
But the groups of tiny bumps are new?
Both of these are something odd about how she processes and apples the calcium she ingests. Probably nothing to worry about as long as she is otherwise eating/drinking/popping and moving around OK.
If she's the only one laying these then it's just her problem and not the diet of the flock.
