What are those round homes called that people can live in?

But people don't come to see out-of-code, condemned buildings like they used to.

No no no no. Yurts are a way of living in the past. I can give you one really annoying reason why I would never live on one. Same reason I would hate to live on a boat.

Q: Where do you find furniture to fit curved walls?

A: You don't.

A sailboat has walls that are not just curved horizontally, they are also curved vertically. ARRGH! You have to make everything yourself or pay exorbitant fees to bribe someone else to do it. Either way it's not worth it. A yurt has walls that angle in and are curved. Good luck finding a headboard to fit that wall!

Again.... ARRGH!

(the hobbit)

what about the geodesic dome homes (big not hobbitty ones) for chickens...
anyone have personal experience whether having one or viewing one?

i have always wanted a yurt, but now i long for a silo!

Yes there are in the west like North Dakota old missile silos, also there are "tornado proof" homes that are poured concrete in essence made by using an inflated "balloons" and using re-bar to make them, I have seen an article on the tornado proof homes because someone built one in southern Indiana, also there are literally round barns in that area of indiana made out of wood, and it was popular at one time there are few examples left. I also live near a house that was built in an octigon shape.
