What are trophies?

Ever since I joined, BYC has been awarding me trophies, and I don't know what their good for! I can click on them, but it just shows me what they were awarded for.

How come my trophies don't increase? Is there a certain number of likes one has to have to get them to Increase?
Also, mobile BYC doesn't let me see my year badge. I qualified for my 8 yr. Badge on May 19th. Did I get it?

Congrats on 8 years! I think they're still working on the year badges?
