I have some chicks in my assortment of australorps and barred rocks which don't look like everyone else. What are these? The guy at the feedstore said everything in the bin was one of the two I just mentioned. Soooo......I appeal to the chicken experts. I'm thinking they are around a week old.

All black/ with some medium grey. No white markings and its feet are solid grey.

See that orange coloring around the face? This one has solid orange feet/legs.

The first one could very well be an Australorp. Although they often have white bellies I had one that was solid black beak to toes.

The second one could be a Gold Laced Wyandotte.

Cute!

I ordered my other chicks from McMurray so pretty much knew what I was getting. This is my first time picking out chicks at a feed store. All of the black'ish type chickies were put into the same bin so I just selected an assortment. It would be fun to have a GLW.

Oh my, this chicken addiction is crazy. Thank goodness the feedstore won't be getting anymore chicks this year. All they had left were the assorted black chicks, some cochins, pheasants, and quail. I have room for more birds, but I'm going to be good and save space for some possible hatchings next spring. *fingers crossed* My husband thinks I'm crazy. He should have built me a smaller coop/run. hehe
