What are you adding to your flock this year?

6, Saipans(Ordered)

5, Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys(Ordered)

5, Silkies(Getting at TSC)

4, Buff Brahmas(Getting at TSC)

Hatching from my own birds:

3-4 Malay X Silkie crosses

5-6 Malays

5-6 Black to White Experiment chicks

Maybe 3, Heritage Plymouth Barred Rock X Silkie Crosses.
Malay x Silkie sounds interesting, like a giant fluff on stilts. My four TSC silkies last year ended up being roos. I might try again this year.

25-30 barred rocks...raising them up currently 1wk old!
A whole new coop
A whole new flock!

Old flock still exisits...now I just have 2 🤣🤣🤣

I have 3 chicks I hatched from my flock's eggs, and six more currently incubating. I also ordered some quail eggs set to arrive around spring or summer. Not much this year because I have a lot going on but I'm hoping to add some more breeds in 2024.
I just hatched out 11. I guess I'm about to reload the incubator because my mom wants a few from my Marans. I have a feeling I'm going to have more chicks than I intended this spring. Do you use a small incubator for those amounts?

I already have a pretty good variety but since I am showing chickens now I try to breed specific breeds and my other breeds are just for eggs or enjoyment. This will be my first year hatching true purebreds since my Ameraucanas and Marans started laying a few months ago. I stuffed a bunch of their eggs in my incubator as well as some Serama eggs I ordered. 6 days left until hatching!
