I made a Blueberry Cream Pie for Fathers Day. My Dad loves Blueberry pie, but will only eat it if it is made from wild blueberries. I figured that since all I had was farm raised (pick-your-own at least) I would try a different kind of pie. He didn't say too much, not sure if he liked it or not, but he did clean his plate.

Where do you find wild blueberries?

Ours grew in the acid clay soils of the pine flat woods. They were very very small.
I have no idea if they grow in NM.

We can grow raspberry's OK but not blueberry's.

I can not grow raspberries. I suppose we have to enjoy what we get, and purchase what we cant.
However, you might be able to grow them in raised beds. I do not have enough chilling hours to grow raspberries.

we get great blueberries all around the woods near us--but have to beat the birds and bears to get them first! They won't be ready until the end of July
