Today I picked four gallons of fresh organic strawberries, then froze them all to use in my kefir smoothies. The best part of it all is that they were FREE!!!
My neighbor planted so many strawberries, his wife doesn't freeze them, or make jam, so he told me to come pick as many as I want. He doesn't want them to go to waste. He *begged* me to come back and pick more. I gave him a stepping stone that I had made from a leaf as payment.
I'm sure fortunate to have good neighbors who also love my "girls"!!!
