The waiting is really hard! That really stinks that you have to wait even longer.
I'm sorry your having to wait. It is really hard. I know that from experience. But hang in there and I hope everything works out for you.

] my calls came in!!! Had one Doa. But they had sent a extra so it's all good. So I got 5 grey, seven white, two pastels (woohoo), and one black bibbed . For the price I couldn't have done any better . I had gotten no updates on tracking grrrr. I checked at 6:15 and figured well heck guess hubby is picking up in Reno. Then at 6:25 got a call from my local PO they had my birds so I threw cloths on and ran out the door didn't even brush my hair lol.
SO ANGRY! my chicks were going to get here sometime in June. but i just got a call from my feed store that they are coming July 11th!!! i almost wish i would have payed for the $20 shipping and ordered straight from Cackle!![]()

lmao not quite a bathrobe but I was in running pants. And yes I plan to move them into a bigger box. On the plus side calls are so small even full grown I won't need a huge amount of space.....even if I do have plans for a good sized run. They do however fly :/I can just see you running into the PO, bathrobe and wild hair flying behind you... a crazed look in those bloodshot eyes screaming "WHERE ARE MY DUCKLINGS?!?! GIMEE GIMEE GIMEE!!!"
Sorry you lost one
it happens... Hope the rest all recover from their ordeal and grow out nicely for you! Congrats!
As an afterthought, I heard/understand ducklings grow even faster than chicks... hope you have another more spacious brooder set up!

i am pretty sure cackle raises all they're own chicks ..but i agree that she could cancel and just reorder somewere else ..You could always check the various hatcheries (not just cackle) and see what they have available (now or soon) and if they have what you want, just order from them and cancel the other order. I believe Cackle gets their chicks from Meyers, as does Mypetchicken, but may be wrong there. I mean, you may be paying the middleman (feed store) more than what the shipping would have cost to just order them direct. You could also check Craigs list for local breeders in your area... Or check the sale/swap pages on here and see if anyone has chicks they'd sell you.
Anyway, whatever you do, I hope the extended wait goes quickly for you if you stay that course.
cackle is its own hatchery and actually keep some of their own breeding flocks. I love my cackle birds. In fact I put in for another cackle surprise that ships mon ....for $61 (including shipping) it's a heck of a deal and you get soo many birds. You could always check the various hatcheries (not just cackle) and see what they have available (now or soon) and if they have what you want, just order from them and cancel the other order.
