Well I made the trip to Denver, stayed up all night as one of the shipments would not update. Left at 7am though and by 9am I got the call both boxes of chicks had arrived and were waiting for me. Got there at 11:30 and when I walked in the door I could hear them! Music to my ears after all the heartache of last weeks loss! So 21 in all and they are all doing great. We are back home in Nebraska and they are settled in. All are drinking and eating (I am using the nipple waterer and they went right to it!) Now I am trying to figure out who is what! I havent identified my Welsummers, Easter Eggers, Cream Legbar and Ameraucana. Thank you for all the prayers and thoughts while I traveled today to get them. I knew it should not turn out like last week, but that was so awful I could not go through that again.

Where are you located? I have someone in the consumer affairs dept of the us post office that is trying to change their policies on how they handle these chicks. Mine all arrived dead after being put in the back of a postal semi for 16 hours in 95 degree heat. This was June 17th. The more people that contact her the better. PM me if you would like. I am trying to make sure no more peeps suffer!Just got our shipment of peeps this morning. 2 of 15 were soaking wet and dead. :'( the post office was SO RUDE and cranky, too. They were annoyed that I wanted to open the box there. Poor little peeps. I'm not sure who died but I know they were pricey. Either red orpington or lemon cuckoo orpington or golden cuckoo Marans. The box was all bashed in and the grogel was all over the side of the bix and the lid. Poor little peeps :-( the breeder/shipper on the other hand has been AMAZING and I will order from Papas Poultry a zillion more times as the years go on.
Any updated photos?
thanks Jewellan for asking! They are Over 4 weeks now, I lost one little Columbian Wyandotte Pullet at 8 days, she just never grew. I hand fed her for days. Everyone else is doing well. I have let them in the coop during the day for the last week and they love the extra wing room. Two days now they have had to come back inside around noon. Its 102 here today. Here is a few pics and a video. My Cream Legbar Amelia will not hold still for a photo, but wow she is getting beautiful
Yes I ordered a Black Copper Maran Rooster and a Columban Wyandotte. But I think one of my Welsummers may be a roo to. Comb is bigger and pinker than the other. I live in the country on 10 acres so no problem with rulles. 17 hens and 3 roos may work out fine so we will see. The little Columbian is slow developing so I dont know for sure he is a roo. The black copper maran defiantly is. I have 3 BCM pullets, 2 easter egger pullets, 1 Blue Ameracuana, 1 cream legbar. so I can get more Olive eggers if I want, I have one Olive Egger, 2 Lt brown leghorn pullets, 1 Welsummer pullet I think instead of 2, 2 Silkies, no idea of sex on those, 2 Lavendar Orpingtons, So I will have a nice rainbow basket. I had a Barred Rock I hatched from an egg when I was 7, have loved chickens since. Took 46 years to finally get my flock lolThanks for the update and the pretty pictures and video. I love your babies. Any unexpected roosters? My two barred Rocks turned out to be roosters. I am sick about it. I have such strict .laws about roosters here. We cannot have them. This is my rooster he is gorgeous. I am going to call a local feed store to see if they will take him for a fee
Other than that my babies are fine. I have two cream legbars coming on the 29th along with one more Blue Favaucana. My latest batch are in their new coop and loving it. They are so friendly!
